Okay honestly, I want you guys to know how great this squad is and know all of these people in my stories. So yeah the next couple of weeks I’m gonna write a few bloggy blogs about all these crazy people and how they have impacted my walk with the Lord.
Okay this is Kara. She is a pursuer of Holiness, she has this crazy radical faith that convicts you and makes you think about things in a new perspective of Holiness. She is a lover of the Word, she is always excited to read scripture and sit with our Father. She fights for her time with the Lord, she sacrifices sleep and so many other things to make sure she is filled up so she can pour out. She is BOLD, man she tells everyone she is a follower of Jesus, says it randomly in conversation and knows the urgency of the Gospel. She is a woman of confession, she recently confessed that she used to use Pandora but has since become a Spotify gal and we love her for this. But like I said she is a woman of life giving confession and invites people into that space with her. I could almost write a whole book on what this gal has taught me – how to walk in Holiness, that the Spirit of the Living God lives within me and with that I can literally do anything, she has taught me what it looks like to fight for my time with the Lord, and how much value and weight comes off with life giving confession.
Maggie, oh sweet Maggie. What a friend this girl is. Maggie is honest and real. Maggie teaches me how to be vulnerable. She is a lover of all people, she includes the outcast, and loves the most. She is creative and loves to watercolor, she loves to give herself away. She is loyal, Maggie and I go way back before the race being placed in the same cohort so we got to have a few conversations pre-race. She is loyal to her people. She loves deeply. She has the best laugh, and loves to have fun. Maggie has taught me what it looks like to be a friend to everyone, she has taught me how to be kind.
Banks – what a brother this guy is. Banks is a friend – he’s had a glimpse of heaven and isn’t scared of sacrificing anything for the gospel to be shared. Every time Banks approaches someone he calls them his friend, he introduces them to the Kingdom immediately with his words. Banks is willing to do anything, he is a servant and will go on adventures with you. He ask good questions and loves to go deep and talk theology. He gets PUMPED about the Lord and will not back down to a good Gospel conversation. This guy abandoned a lot in the states walks in obedience to the Lord and says what he means, he is a man of his word. What hasn’t this guy taught me? I have learned so much from this guy, but the biggest thing I have learned from this guy is what it means to seek out the lost – there is urgency in this and Banks walks in it.
Jordan, what a man. A transformation happening right before our eyes. What a joy it is to witness this 11 months with you. I honestly can not say enough things about this guy to describe him adequately. He loves to have fun, he loves to build up the Kingdom of God, he loves to worship. The Lord gives Him the most beautiful words and He is always willing to share them with us. Jordan walks in humility and is incredibly sensitive to the Spirit and walks in obedience. Jordan is a top commodity on this squad and that says enough within itself. What has this guy taught me? Jordan has taught me what it looks like to walk in radical obedience to the Lord, there isn’t anything isn’t willing to sacrifice and give up because He sees the value in living in the Kingdom.
These 4 people do mean the most to me – and I am SO excited for the next 5 months with these friends of mine!
This is incredible. It’s an honor to be your brother and friend and to learn from the way you see people as well as the way you earnestly desire to lay down EVERYTHING for others. Your love, His love in you, is STRONG. I feel loved in the fact that God is letting me walk alongside you and your transformation and I know so many others feel the same! Fighting for you always!
This post makes me emotional & overwhelmed with gratitude. I hold our friendship so very close to me because it brings me closer to Jesus. You are a constant & unconditional friend. You celebrate others & it encourages me to do the same. Love you.
